Anxiety Disorder Physical Symptoms
Anyone at any age can suffer from an anxiety disorder. Often people do not recognize the symptoms of this disorder and it can be left untreated often making the physical symptoms of anxiety disorder gradually worse. Many things can cause anxiety, such as stress, a bad childhood experiences or hormonal changes. Anxiety can happen to anyone at any point in their life and no one knows the exact reason. Physical symptoms include hot or cold flashes, this is where you get warm or cold sensations in the upper half of your body and your face. These happen because of a rush of adrenaline in the body which causes you to sweat and feel hot. Cold flashes usually happen after a panic attack, when the adrenalin calms down you then become cold. Panic attacks are another symptom of anxiety. They are caused out of fear, and stress, this causes the body to produce a rush of adrenalin that it has no use for so causes a panic attack. Although deeply distressing to the person suffering, they are completely harmless.
Another symptom of anxiety is heart palpitations. This is the sensation of regular or irregular pounding of your heart, it is where you are conscious of your own heartbeat and can be felt in your chest, neck or throat and they are an unpleasant experience. They often occur when we are excited or we get a fright and most people experience heart palpitations at some point in their lives.
It is important that someone that displays these symptoms consults a doctor, as they will need to learn breathing techniques to help these symptoms when they occur. This will help the sufferer breath more comfortably, relieving the symptoms and avoiding making the situation worse. When a sufferer feels dizzy or lightheaded, it is an inner confused feeling, the sufferers balance can be affected and sometimes they may suffer a headache with the dizziness.
Chest pains are another frightening symptom of anxiety disorder. The sufferer can feel dull or sharp pains in the chest, which can sometimes stretch to the arms and neck. These are uncomfortable and sometimes the sufferer can feel spasms in their chest. These are all physical symptoms of generalized anxiety and if you or someone you know is suffering any of these symptoms it is best to go to your doctor who can treat it and help you to live with the symptoms greatly relieved.
